Minor Arcana · Swords

Thinking and conflict: secrecy and deception; someone is trying to get away with something.
Thinking and conflict: the secret comes out, or a change of heart and coming clean.
The Seven of Swords shows a figure tiptoeing away from a camp with an armful of blades. In love, it can point to secrecy, half-truths or someone keeping their options open. It may also reflect you protecting yourself by holding back. Look carefully at what is not being said.
Reversed, what was hidden may come to light, or someone chooses to come clean. It can also mean you are tired of pretending and ready to be more open. Honesty may be uncomfortable, yet it gives the relationship something real to stand on.
At work, office politics, cutting corners or someone taking credit for your ideas may be at play. Strategy can be useful, but not at the cost of integrity. Keep records and protect your work sensibly.
Reversed, a deception at work may be exposed, or you are deciding to stop working around a problem and address it openly. Consider taking responsibility where it is due and moving forward in a more transparent way.
Financially, be alert to hidden fees, unclear terms or offers that seem designed to mislead. Someone may be taking more than they show. Checking the fine print and the source of any deal is especially wise under this card.
Reversed, a financial secret or error may surface, giving you a chance to put it right. Consider coming clean about debts or mistakes with the people affected, and returning anything that was not rightly yours.
Look for what is being kept out of sight, and choose the transparent path yourself.
