Minor Arcana · Pentacles

Money and practical life: security and saving; holding on tightly to what you have.
Money and practical life: greed or overspending, or learning to loosen your grip.
The Four of Pentacles shows a figure clutching a coin to his chest, with others under his feet and on his crown. In love, it can reflect a need for security that turns into possessiveness or emotional guardedness. Stability matters, but holding on too tightly can squeeze out warmth.
Reversed, you may be loosening your grip, letting a partner have more freedom or opening up after keeping your heart locked away. It can also mean insecurity is swinging the other way into overgiving. Look for a relaxed middle ground.
At work, you may be protecting your position, resources or ideas closely. This can build stability, yet it may also stop you from sharing, delegating or trying something new. Ask whether caution is serving growth.
Reversed, you might be ready to take a measured risk or share responsibility more generously. Alternatively, a sense of security at work may feel shaky. Consider where a little flexibility would help.
Financially, the Four of Pentacles favours saving and protecting what you have. That caution can build real security. Just be careful that fear of loss does not stop you from spending on genuine needs or your own well-being.
Reversed, you may be releasing an overly tight grip on money, or swinging the other way into spending more freely than is wise. Consider finding a balance between security and actually enjoying your resources.
Hold on to what gives you security, and open your hand slightly to what could help you grow.
